Elisabeth Schlosser is a meteorologist/glaciologist at the University of Innsbruck. Her main interest is polar meteorology in combination with studies of ice cores for paleoclimatic interpretation. After studying meteorology and glaciology at the University of Innsbruck she overwintered at the German Antarctic base “Neumayer” 1989-1991. Since she got her PhD in 1996, she worked as PI of her own projects, from 1999-2021 entirely funded by FWF. Various research stays abroad (mostly of about 3 months) led her back to Antarctica, to the Norwegian Polar Institute in Tromsö, Norway, and to the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, CO, USA. With the Elise-Richter-Grant she earned her habilitation in 2010.
