After studying law I have started my career by working for EU-projects in Ukraine (Key legal long term advisor, Ukrainian- European Policy and Legal Advice Centre (UEPLAC)) and in the Russian Federation (Key legal advisor, Promotion of Tolerance and Improving Interethnic Relations). Only then I switched to political science with the main reseach area on politics of the European Union, EU external relations, the European Neighbourhood Policy, EU-Russia Relations, but also the developments of European democracy. For the last years I have worked as Executive Director of the Salzburg Centre of European Union Studies (SCEUS). In this function I was responsible for the management of the Horizon2020 project EMU_Choices “The choice for Europe since Maastricht” with SCEUS as lead beneficiary. I have also managed the Austrian-Russian summer school at the University of Salzburg and have regularly taught courses in English and Russian at the Moscow State University.
